This Ninja Creami Shamrock Ice Cream is minty, creamy, and exactly what I make every March when I want something green that isn’t a milkshake. It’s smooth, scoopable, and made with real ingredients — no pudding mix, no gums, no weird aftertaste.
If you’ve made my Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream or even my Mint Oreo Ice Cream, this one fits right into that lineup. Same ultra-creamy base, just festive and very St. Patrick’s Day–approved ☘️
This is the pint my family starts sneaking spoonfuls from straight out of the freezer. Fair warning.

What is Shamrock Ice Cream?
Shamrock Ice Cream is a mint-flavored dessert with a creamy texture. It’s inspired by the famous Shamrock Shake from McDonald's.
This green ice cream is packed with vanilla, mint, and chocolate chips. It’s smooth, refreshing, and perfect for celebrating March and St. Patrick's Day.
Think of it as the ultimate mint chocolate chip ice cream, but better!
Ingredients You’ll Need

- Mint Chocolate Chip Flavoring – The secret to that signature cool, minty taste.
- Half and Half – The perfect balance of milk and cream for a luscious texture.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – Adds sweetness and creaminess to the ice cream.
- Cottage Cheese – Sounds surprising, but trust me, it makes the base extra creamy!
- Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Paste – For that warm, aromatic vanilla undertone.
- Green Food Color – Just a few drops give it that festive St. Patrick’s ☘️look.
See recipe card for quantities.
Substitution and Additions
- Half and Half → Replace with equal parts heavy cream and whole milk.

- Sweetened Condensed Milk → Swap with honey or maple syrup for natural sweetness.
- Green Food Color → Skip it or use matcha powder for a natural alternative.
- Extra Add-Ins – Stir in chocolate chips, crushed Oreos, or marshmallows.

Ninja Creami Shamrock Ice Cream
Equipment
- 1 Ninja Creami Deluxe
- 1 Blender
- 24 ounces Ninja Container Pint
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup Half and half
- ½ cup Sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup Cottage cheese
- ½ teaspoon Mint chocolate chip flavor I used Lorann Oils Mint Chocolate Chip
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
- 2 drops Green food color
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients – Combine everything in a blender until smooth.1 ½ cup Half and half, ½ cup Sweetened condensed milk, ½ cup Cottage cheese, ½ teaspoon Mint chocolate chip flavor I used Lorann Oils Mint Chocolate Chip, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste, 2 drops Green food color
- Freeze for 24 Hours – Pour into a Ninja Creami pint and freeze on a level surface.
- Spin on Ice Cream Mode – Let the Ninja Creami do its magic!
- Respin if Needed – If it’s crumbly, respin for the perfect texture.
- Serve and Enjoy – Scoop it up and enjoy a creamy, minty treat!
Notes
- Freeze completely (24 hours minimum): A solid, flat freeze gives you the smoothest spin and protects the blade.
- Crumbly after the first spin? Totally normal. Hit Respin once — this base almost always comes together on the second go.
- Still dry? Add 1–2 tablespoons milk or half-and-half and respin until creamy.
- Taste before freezing: The base should taste slightly sweeter than you want — freezing dulls sweetness.
- Add mix-ins last: Chocolate chips and Oreos should only go in during the Mix-In cycle.
- Color is optional: The green food coloring doesn’t affect flavor — skip it if you want.
- Leftovers tip: Smooth the top flat before refreezing so it re-spins evenly next time.
- Storage: Best within 1–2 weeks for peak texture and flavor.
